If you are interested in having your parts made, go to the MachinePartsDirect.net homepage and click the link “Request a Quote”. Both links have easy to follow instructions on how to sign up.

A. In order to accurately quote your parts, we need to provide our suppliers with a 3D model or print. Every shop in our network has executed a Non-Disclosure Agreement which specifically prohibits them from copying, transferring, disclosing, or otherwise competing using any vendors’ proprietary information. Placing your parts drawings and 3d Models on our server is much more secure than sending this information via email.

A. If a 3D model is required to machine a part correctly and you don’t have one, Machined Parts Direct can make one for you for a fee. The model will be sent you for approval prior to sending it out to quote or before any work will commence. This 3D model becomes part of your proprietary information.

A. All machining starts with the print and/or model. Please be sure to upload the latest accurate print/model of the part you need made. Parts made to the specifications on the print/model uploaded become the responsibility of the customer and new parts will be made at customer’s expense. However, if the parts do not match the print/model you provided, and it is our error, we will remake the parts at our expense. * One way to be sure that your parts are being machined accurately, is the check the box “First Article Inspection”. This gives you the opportunity to inspect the part for accuracy.

A. Yes, every dimension on the part will be inspected. The quantity of pieces that will be inspected will be based on the AQL Sampling Chart. In our “Request for Quote Form” you will have the chance to list what Major and Minor characteristic you want inspected.

A. Yes, it is possible to inspect every part. You can also choose to have specific dimensions inspected. Please note that requesting inspection of every part and every listed dimension will increase the production cost. (click here to view a video about AQL Sampling and how it reduces costs).

A. Every customer and machine shop is assigned a Territory Manager. Their name and contact information is on your dashboard page when you log-on to your Machine Parts Direct home page. You can also call the main number at 1.888.342.2757 at any time.

A. All of the machine shops in our network are require to provide federal and state documentation that they are legally registered to do business in the US. All shops are also required to produce all parts in the United States.

A. No. Any multi-national shops are strictly required to produce all parts here in the United States.

A. No problem. Just be sure to check the box on the “Request for Quote” form that states that you will provide the material. This will ensure that you receive a quote for machining only. Then when you place the order, a Machined Parts Direct representative will contact you to arrange the material shipment.

A. If you need to cancel an order after you placed it, simply log-on to your Machined Parts Direct dashboard and go to your “Open Orders” file. Find the order that you need to cancel and press “Cancel Order” tab. Our integrated system immediately notifies your Territory Manager, our customer service department, and the shop that is making the part, that the order has been cancelled.

A. When an order is cancelled, a Machined Parts Direct representative contacts the machine shop to determine the status of the order. You will be responsible to pay for all completed parts, the cost of any raw material and tooling, and all shipping fees to return the parts to you.

A. No. There is no minimum quantity required to place an order. If you need only one part made, then simply ask for that on the “Request for Quote” form.

A. We can help with that. We can provide you with a completed part or assembly if secondary operations such as heat treating, painting, welding, plating, mag particle inspection, and honing are required. Just make sure when you check the box(s) under “Additional Operations”, on the “Request for Quote” form and specify what operations you need.
